Our Story

The Empty Stocking Fund was founded in 1927 by a dedicated group of employees from The Atlanta Georgian. Over the decades, this organization has transformed the lives of countless disadvantaged children by delivering joy through holiday gifts and essential supplies throughout the year. By partnering with wholesale distributors and corporations, ESF ensures that children in need receive new items that support their social, emotional, and academic development.

Impact

Since its inception, The Empty Stocking Fund has provided over 2 million holiday gift packages, impacting nearly 15,000 children each holiday season. In 2020, ESF raised over $2.5 million, with more than half of the donations coming from generous individuals. Annually, the organization serves 30,000 disadvantaged students with school supply kits and supports 5,000 Title I teachers with essential classroom materials.
