Empowering Dexter Students Through Education

The Educational Foundation of Dexter (EFD) has been a cornerstone of educational enrichment in the Dexter Community School District since its inception in 1984. With a mission to support innovative and creative educational projects, EFD provides financial backing through teacher-written grants, ensuring that every student has access to enriching learning experiences.

Over the years, EFD has awarded more than $1,000,000, impacting every campus within the district. Notable projects funded include Adapted Music for Students with Special Needs, the Charles H. Wright Museum field trip for fifth graders, and FLEX Robotics Kits for Creekside. These initiatives not only enhance the educational landscape but also foster a love for learning among students.

In response to budget cuts and funding decreases, Excellence 4 Dexter Students (E4DS) was established in 2015 to generate additional revenue for teachers and programs. Since then, E4DS has contributed $182,000 to support mental wellness initiatives, math and science programming, and enriching experiences for sixth graders. The collaboration between EFD and E4DS has created a unified approach to addressing the needs of the Dexter Community School District.
