The Degen Foundation
EIN: 71-0575827 · Fort Smith, AR
Our Story
The Degen Foundation was established to provide essential healthcare and education funds, focusing on the uninsured and underserved populations in the River Valley Region. The foundation's roots trace back to 1887 when Reverend George F. Degen founded Fort Smith's first hospital, which later evolved into Sparks Regional Medical Center. Following the sale of the hospital's assets in 2009, the Degen Foundation was formed to continue this legacy of health service provision.
