Our Story

Lake Forest Montessori was established in 1988, thriving until Hurricane Katrina devastated the community. In the face of adversity, dedicated teachers and Ms. Early united to reopen the school, believing that education would bring residents back. Their commitment led to the granting of a public charter in January 2006, and by April, Lake Forest Charter opened its doors to 66 eager students. Today, it stands as the highest performing K-8 school in Louisiana, nurturing the next generation of leaders.

Impact

Lake Forest Charter has proudly earned two National Blue Ribbon Awards from the Department of Education. Our students consistently excel, moving on to prestigious institutions across the nation. The vision is clear: every Eagle should attend a four-year university, with at least 85% pursuing advanced degrees.
