Our Story

The Cornerstone Foundation, founded in 1982 by Helen Syriac, began as a compassionate response to the tragic death of a homeless man, Vern Cook. Located in Rockville, Connecticut, this faith-based organization has evolved from a local initiative into a vital community resource, offering shelters, a soup kitchen, and outreach programs.

Impact

In its inaugural year, the foundation sheltered 143 individuals, many of whom were single mothers with children. For over 40 years, it has provided food, clothing, and shelter to those in need, thanks to the unwavering support of volunteers and the community.
