Our Story

The Conference of Southern Graduate Schools (CSGS) originated from informal discussions among graduate deans in the southern region, starting at the summer workshop of the Council of Graduate Schools in 1969. Established to tackle mutual challenges, CSGS has a rich history dating back to 1925, with its first official meeting held in 1972. This organization focuses on collaboration and the exchange of ideas among graduate schools in the Southern United States.
