Our Story

In 2016, Becky Schisler, a white adoptive mother, was moved to action after witnessing the tragic police shootings of unarmed black men. This personal experience with racism ignited a conversation among concerned parents, leading to the formation of The Coalition for Cultural Compassion in 2017. The organization is dedicated to addressing the needs of marginalized groups and challenging systems of oppression through community engagement and inclusive events.

Our Impact

The Coalition for Cultural Compassion has successfully developed programs and partnerships that provide access to essential resources such as clothing, hygiene products, food, and healthcare. By fostering cross-cultural learning opportunities, CCC empowers the Charlotte community to embrace diversity and inclusion.
