The Bus for Outdoor Access and Teaching, known as BOAT, was founded by Micah Leinbach in Denver in the Summer of 2019. This innovative organization empowers community leaders to facilitate outdoor experiences, breaking down barriers to access. After a temporary halt due to COVID-19, BOAT successfully relaunched in the Great Lakes region, expanding its operations and serving over 40 partners and 1,900 individuals.
BOAT has conducted 110 trips, engaging 1,900 participants and demonstrating its effectiveness in increasing outdoor access and community engagement.
