The Bronx Foundation

Our Story

The Bronx Community Foundation is the first and only community foundation dedicated to serving The Bronx. Founded in 2017 by Bronx natives Derrick and Desmon Lewis, the foundation addresses the unmet needs of local organizations, businesses, and residents. By fostering collaborative solutions, it aims to create a thriving environment for all Bronxites.

Impact

In just a few years, The Bronx Community Foundation has awarded over $10 million in grants to grassroots organizations and small businesses. In 2023 alone, it supported 20 nonprofits with $650,000 in grants, empowering community stakeholders to design impactful solutions that enhance the quality of life in the borough.
