Our Story

The Arc of Fort Bend County was founded in 1968 by dedicated parents striving to enhance the lives of their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This grassroots advocacy organization is committed to ensuring that individuals with disabilities have the opportunities they deserve to thrive within their communities.

Impact

Through advocacy, The Arc promotes the inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities in all aspects of community life, from classrooms to workplaces. The organization offers recreational and social programs, employment assistance, housing support, and proudly hosts the largest Special Olympics program in the area.
