Our Story

The Arc of Greensboro was founded in 1953 by dedicated parents advocating for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This grassroots movement aimed to change public perceptions and educate the community about the extraordinary potential of these individuals. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1961, The Arc is part of a nationwide network that empowers people with developmental disabilities to make choices in their lives.
