The Afiya Center was established to address the alarming disparities in HIV incidences and reproductive health among Black womxn and girls in Texas. As the only Reproductive Justice organization in North Texas founded and led by Black womxn, TAC is dedicated to transforming lives through education, resources, and advocacy.
Over the years, The Afiya Center has actively participated in legislative sessions, advocating against harmful laws that restrict reproductive choices for women, particularly Black women. These efforts are crucial in combating the negative effects of funding cuts and healthcare restrictions that lead to poor maternal health outcomes.
