Our Story
In 1998, a tragic mid-air collision involving two HH-60G rescue helicopters during a night training mission at Nellis AFB, NV, claimed the lives of twelve airmen, leaving behind eight children. In response, a local fund was established to support these children. The need for assistance grew when another airman was killed in 1999 during Operation Southern Watch, prompting the creation of another fund for his sons. Recognizing the broader need, these independent funds merged to form the That Others May Live Foundation (TOMLF) in May 2002, dedicated to supporting the families of U.S. Air Force rescue heroes. Over the years, TOMLF has expanded its mission to provide educational funding and immediate tragedy assistance to families of fallen and injured rescue personnel, growing from eight to over thirty beneficiary children today.
