Founded by Michael Shain in 2006, Thanks To Yanks began with a 9/11 Tribute Dinner to honor military families. This organization has evolved to support veterans and their families through various programs.

Thanks To Yanks has transformed from a single event to an annual tribute, growing attendance from 120 guests in 2006 to 370 in 2014, while addressing service gaps for military families.
