Our Story

Founded in 1988, Texoma Family Shelter emerged from the commitment of the Grayson County Ministerial Alliance to address homelessness in the region. Originally known as Grayson County Shelter, the organization was established in a building generously donated by Dr. Donald H. Brandt in memory of his wife, Helen. In May 2020, the name was changed to Texoma Family Shelter to better reflect its mission and to clarify its private operation. This shelter stands as a beacon of hope for families and individuals in need, providing a safe haven for those seeking to rebuild their lives.

Impact

For over 36 years, Texoma Family Shelter has been the only 24/7/365 homeless shelter in the Texoma area, dedicated to helping displaced families and individuals.
