Our Story

The Texas Agricultural Education & Heritage Center, affectionately known as The Big Red Barn, was established to enlighten the public, particularly young individuals, about the significance of agriculture and our rich heritage. Nestled on a historic working farm in Guadalupe County, this center occupies land that has been cultivated since the 1850s, generously donated by fifth-generation farmers Wilfred and Betty Bartoskewitz in 2003.

Each year, thousands of visitors of all ages come to explore, learn, and connect with the agricultural roots that have shaped America. The center offers engaging programs and displays that provide insights into rural agricultural life, both past and present.
