Our Story
Founded in 1946 by Edna Ruth Byler, Ten Thousand Villages began with a mission to support women artisans by selling hand-embroidered textiles from Puerto Rico. This initiative has blossomed into a global fair trade movement, empowering artisans in over 20 countries.
