Our Story

Founded in 1999, Temple Hills Fresh Start Inc. emerged from a deep compassion for individuals facing homelessness. In 2001, the organization opened its doors to provide single room occupancy housing for women in need. This initiative evolved into transitional housing, offering a safe haven for those seeking a fresh start. By 2020, Temple Hills Fresh Start officially became a nonprofit, dedicated to empowering women experiencing homelessness. To date, twenty formerly homeless individuals have successfully transitioned into permanent housing, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards independence.

Our Impact

Temple Hills Fresh Start is committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness by providing temporary transitional housing and essential supportive services. With a stay ranging from 6 weeks to 24 months, residents are equipped with the tools needed to achieve and sustain social and financial stability in the DMV metropolitan area.
