On January 1st, 2013, a devastating diagnosis changed everything: "Your child has cancer." After three and a half years of treatment, Ryan emerged as a survivor. To honor his journey, Team Bright Side was formed, engaging athletes in triathlons to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. Together, the mission is clear: eradicate pediatric blood cancers and support groundbreaking research in collaboration with the University of Chicago Medicine.
Over the years, Team Bright Side has trained more than 1,000 athletes and raised over 2 million dollars, significantly contributing to advancements in pediatric cancer treatment through the Pediatric Cancer Data Commons at The University of Chicago Medicine.
