Our Story

When Laurie was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer in December 2012, she dedicated her life to raising awareness about this devastating disease. Over three years, she provided support to countless women and families, leading to the founding of The Teal Foundation. With the help of friends and family, Laurie organized The Teal Run, an event that, despite her absence due to illness, marked a significant success in raising awareness and funds for ovarian cancer. Laurie passed away on November 1, 2015, but her legacy continues through the ongoing efforts of The Teal Foundation.

Impact

The Teal Foundation has grown to include over 4,000 supporters through grassroots fundraising and networking. The mission focuses on ensuring that vital education and resources about ovarian cancer reach all communities, especially those historically underserved. Together, the foundation is bridging the gap in health equity and bringing hope to more women and families.
