Our Story

The Teachers’ Supply Closet (TSC) was born from a vision in 2005 to create a 'free teachers’ supply store' that would support educators in underserved communities. With the backing of community leaders and organizations like the Charleston Chapters of the Links, Incorporated and Jack & Jill of America, Incorporated, TSC was formally established in 2006. As a proud partner of the Kids In Need Foundation, TSC opened its doors in February 2009 as South Carolina's only 'free' school supply store, initially serving six elementary schools in the Charleston County School District.

Our Impact

Today, TSC serves over 1,000 teachers and 25,000 students annually, ensuring that every child is prepared to learn in the classroom.
