The Teacher Accelerator Program is dedicated to tackling the chronic teacher shortage in Miami-Dade County. In collaboration with Achieve Miami, Teach for America-Miami-Dade, and the University of Miami, TAP recruits, trains, and places college graduates and career changers into public school classrooms. Since its inception in 2015, TAP has developed a scalable workforce solution that creates a new pipeline of educators for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
TAP provides a clear pathway for professionals with bachelor's degrees and college seniors to enter the teaching profession. Participants benefit from ongoing mentorship during their first year, fostering professional growth and community support.
