Founded in 1970, Tasks Unlimited emerged from Dr. George W. Fairweather’s innovative Fairweather Model, which revolutionized mental health care by providing alternatives to hospitalization. The organization began its journey by training new lodge groups at Anoka State Hospital, leading to the opening of its first lodge in October 1970.
