About the Tariq Khamisa Foundation
The Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF) was established in 1995 following the tragic death of college student Tariq Khamisa. In a remarkable act of healing, the families of both Tariq and his killer, Tony Hicks, united to promote peace and understanding. TKF is dedicated to fostering safer schools and communities by educating children on the principles of accountability, compassion, forgiveness, and peacemaking.
Impact of TKF
With over 500 school presentations, TKF reaches more than 10,000 children each year, significantly enhancing their understanding of kindness and conflict resolution. The foundation has achieved a 67% decrease in school disciplinary issues and a 72% reduction in truancy rates.
