Our Story

Founded in 1975, Tamil Sangam Michigan emerged from a group of Tamil-speaking friends in Detroit who sought to preserve their rich heritage. This grassroots organization has remained steadfast in its mission to nurture the Tamil language, culture, and arts in a welcoming social environment.

Impact

Since 2010, Tamil Sangam Michigan has successfully organized Tamil classes for children as young as five, with over 400 kids participating last academic year. This initiative fosters a deep connection to Tamil heritage among the younger generation.
