Tacoma Farmers Market
EIN: 91-1647227 · Tacoma, WA
Our Story
The Tacoma Farmers Market was founded in 1990 by community activists Marcia Moe and Norma Honeysett. This initiative aimed to revitalize downtown Tacoma through the sharing of wholesome, locally grown foods. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the oldest continually operating markets in the South Puget Sound, expanding its services to multiple neighborhoods and acting as a small business incubator.
Impact
Each year, the Tacoma Farmers Market donates over 7,500 pounds of fresh, organic produce to local food banks. The market generates six times its spending impact in the local economy, significantly contributing to community wellness.
