Our Story

Founded in 1935 by passionate volunteers, Tacoma Art Museum has evolved into a national model for regional, mid-sized museums. The museum, located in Tacoma, Washington, opened its current location in 2003, designed by renowned architect Antoine Predock. With a focus on the art and artists of the Northwest, TAM houses over 5,400 works, including significant collections of studio art glass and Western American art.
