Think Together

Our Story

Originating in the challenging Shalimar Street neighborhood in 1994, Think Together has a rich history of proactively addressing societal challenges, from crime and drugs to gangs, teen pregnancy, and high school dropout rates. Community leaders came together to open the doors of Shalimar Learning Center, a safe space for neighborhood kids to come after school and get help with homework. Over 100 kids showed up on the first day! What began as a single neighborhood center has grown into programs in over 500 California schools – from San Diego to the Bay Area – serving 200,000 students.
