Our Story

Founded in 1981 by Mike and Ali Lubbock, Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park in Sylva, North Carolina, is a testament to their passion for waterfowl conservation. The park opened in 2006, continuing the legacy of Mike Lubbock, known affectionately as the Waterfowl Man.

Our Impact

Sylvan Heights is home to breeding populations of some of the world’s rarest waterfowl. With fewer than 250 individuals of some species remaining in the wild, the park plays a crucial role in their survival through collaborative captive breeding programs.
