Our Story

Swope Health was founded in 1969 in the basement of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Kansas City, originally named Model Cities Health Corporation. Established to provide primary health services to those who fell through the cracks of the healthcare system, particularly the working poor, Swope Health has significantly expanded its services and reach over the years.
