Our Story

Founded by Rose McGee in 2014, Sweet Potato Comfort Pie emerged from the tragedy of Michael Brown's murder in Ferguson, MO. Loading her car with sweet potato pies, Ms. McGee discovered that these pies were not just a source of comfort but a catalyst for change, leading to the creation of a vibrant organization dedicated to uplifting the African American community through cultural and creativity-based programs.

Impact

Sweet Potato Comfort Pie advances racial justice and equity, healing the wounds of race-based trauma through community-building activities and artistic productions.
