Our Story

The Swedish-American Historical Society, founded in 1948, is dedicated to recording and interpreting the rich Swedish presence in America. Emerging from the 1948 Swedish Pioneer Centennial celebration, the Society focuses on the history and culture of Swedish emigration to North America through extensive research, publications, and archival efforts.

Impact

With a goal of raising $250,000 for the Philip J. Anderson Publications Endowment, the Society aims to enhance the accessibility of the journal Swedish-American Studies for both scholars and the general public.
