Founded in 1997, the Suzuki Music School of Westport has transformed from its humble beginnings in a church hall to one of the largest independent nonprofit community music schools in the country. Established by Becki Christopherson, the school has evolved significantly, moving through various locations to meet the growing demand for music education. In 1998, it was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and by 2000, it offered a diverse range of instruments including violin, piano, cello, flute, guitar, and early childhood music education.
