Founded in 2007 by John and Karin Jelavich, the Sutter Yuba Community Foundation began as the River Valley Community Foundation. This initiative was created to provide a platform for community members to support local charitable causes and youth activities. The foundation has since evolved, reinvesting all funds raised back into the community, including a significant $100,000 grant to establish a perpetual scholarship endowment for local high school graduates.
