Our Story

The Sutter Buttes Regional Land Trust has a rich history of conservation efforts in the Sutter Buttes area, beginning with the establishment of the West Butte Sanctuary Company in 1976. Over the years, the organization evolved, becoming the Sutter Buttes Naturalists and later the Middle Mountain Foundation, before finally being recognized as the Sutter Buttes Regional Land Trust in 2015. This organization is dedicated to protecting and maintaining the natural and agricultural resources of the Sutter Buttes and surrounding regions for present and future generations.
