Our Story
In 2006, a transformative connection was established between two Washington DC service trip participants and the town of Trinidad, Honduras, led by agronomist Roy Lara. This collaboration birthed the Trinidad Conservation Project (TCP), which focused on reforestation, planting over 15,000 trees in its inaugural year. In 2008, TCP expanded its mission by partnering with Sustainable Harvest International to incorporate sustainable agriculture. After graduating from SHI in 2015, TCP continued its journey with Groundswell International and Vecinos Honduras. In 2017, TCP evolved into Sustainable Villages Honduras (SVH), achieving IRS-approved tax-exempt status in 2018, while maintaining its partnership with Vecinos Honduras.
