Our Story

The Sustainable Sciences Institute (SSI), founded in 1998, evolved from the Applied Molecular Biology/Appropriate Technology Transfer Program. Led by Eva Harris and Josefina Coloma, SSI empowers local scientists and public health officials in resource-poor countries, particularly in Latin America, by providing essential training and resources to combat diseases effectively.

Impact

Since its inception, SSI has facilitated over 100 scientific workshops and trained nearly 2,000 public health professionals across 29 countries, resulting in over 100 publications in esteemed scientific journals. This work has significantly enhanced public health capabilities in regions facing pressing health challenges.

Why Donate?

Donations to SSI directly support the provision of medical care and supplies urgently needed in communities facing health crises. By empowering local scientists and public health officials, donors help build sustainable health solutions that effectively address global health challenges.
