Our Story

The Surgeons of Hope Foundation, established in 2001 by Dr. Alain Deloche, is dedicated to ensuring that every infant and child with a damaged heart receives the life-saving surgery they need. Based in New York City, this nonprofit organization focuses on bridging the gap in access to heart care for children in developing countries, particularly in Latin America. Surgeons of Hope has made significant strides in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Paraguay, where advanced cardiac centers have been constructed and hundreds of children have received critical surgeries.

Impact

Surgeons of Hope has successfully operated on approximately 800 children in Nicaragua and over 600 in Paraguay, dramatically improving medical outcomes and access to care for those suffering from congenital heart defects.
