Our Story
Surfers for Strays was founded in 2017 by Natalie Ritenour and Isabel Velasco after rescuing seven abandoned puppies and their mother. With community support, the organization has grown to include programs for animal adoption, youth education, and free spay and neuter services for underserved communities.
Impact
Since 2020, Surfers for Strays has spayed and neutered over 5,000 dogs and cats, significantly reducing the stray animal population in Mexico.
