Our Story

Founded in December 2007, Surfers For Autism began with a passionate group of South Florida surfers dedicated to introducing children on the autism spectrum to the joy of surfing. The first event in April 2008 at Deerfield Beach saw 40 surfers with autism ride the waves, supported by 200 volunteer instructors and 2,500 enthusiastic spectators.

Impact

Surfers For Autism offers free surf sessions for children and adults with autism and related developmental delays, creating a safe and enjoyable environment that encourages friendships and personal growth.
