Sur Legal Collaborative

Our Story

Founded in October 2020, Sur Legal Collaborative is a women of color-led nonprofit dedicated to advancing immigrant and worker rights in the Deep South. Established in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sur Legal addresses the urgent need for legal protections for essential immigrant workers.

Impact

Sur Legal has made significant strides in providing legal education and support to immigrant workers facing labor abuses and unsafe conditions. Their rapid response efforts, particularly after the nitrogen leak incident at Foundation Food Group, have included Know Your Rights presentations and ongoing legal advocacy.
