Our Story

Supporting Heroes was founded by Bill Keithley and Eric Johnson to address the urgent need for financial support for families of public safety heroes who die in the line of duty. After the tragic loss of Officer Gabriel Keithley’s partner, Bill sought to create a lasting legacy of support for those left behind. Launched on September 11, 2004, Supporting Heroes began its mission in Kentucky and has since expanded to Indiana and Missouri, providing vital assistance to grieving families.

Our Impact

Supporting Heroes offers immediate and ongoing support to families of police, fire, and EMS personnel killed in the line of duty. The organization has successfully filed numerous Public Safety Officers’ Benefits claims and provides travel and lodging assistance for families attending national memorial services, ensuring that they are honored and cared for during their time of need.
