Empowering Youth Impacted By Serious Illnesses

Our Story

The Superhero Project was founded by Lisa Kollins after her transformative experience as a cabin counselor at Camp Sunrise, a summer camp for children affected by HIV/AIDS. In 2016, she created an activity that allowed campers to illustrate their inner superheroes, leading to the official launch of The Superhero Project in 2017. This initiative has since expanded its reach, empowering youth impacted by serious illnesses and disabilities through the healing power of art.

Impact

To date, The Superhero Project has empowered over 1600 children from nearly two dozen countries, helping them express their strengths and creativity through personalized superhero illustrations. Families have reported increased self-confidence and a sense of connection, showcasing the profound impact of this program on youth facing significant challenges.
