Founded in 1958, Sunshine School & Development Center began as Benton County Sunshine School, dedicated to providing education and support for children with disabilities at a time when public education was not accommodating. Over the years, the organization has evolved to serve thousands in Northwest Arkansas, focusing on advocacy, therapy, and education. With a commitment to inclusivity, it rebranded in 2013 to better reflect its mission and the diversity of its clients.
Sunshine School & Development Center successfully serves over 500 individuals annually, helping them thrive in their communities.
