Our Story
Founded in 2018 by Michele Redwine, the Suncoast Black Arts Collaborative emerged from a passion for elevating artists of African descent who have historically been underrepresented in local museums and galleries. This grassroots movement has transformed the cultural landscape of Sarasota and Manatee Counties, fostering a vibrant community of artists and art enthusiasts.
Impact
In 2021, Sarasota Magazine recognized the organization as 'The Best Organization in Sarasota County promoting and advocating for Diversity in the arts.' Through exhibitions and events, the Collaborative has provided invaluable opportunities for emerging and professional artists, enriching the community with diverse artistic expressions.
