In June 1998, the tragic loss of a 13-year-old boy to suicide shook the Carson Valley community. In response to this heartbreaking event, a coalition of educators, clergy, community leaders, law enforcement, and parents came together to establish the Suicide Prevention Network in 1999. This organization is committed to educating and supporting community members to prevent further tragedies.
Since its inception, SPN has partnered with local coalitions to provide free educational materials, training, and support groups, effectively raising awareness about the warning signs of suicide.
