Our Story
The Suburban Friendship League (SFL) was founded in Fall 1990 by Wayne Gilbert, with the vision of creating a platform for youth to engage in soccer. Supported by Chris Martin, the league provided recreational soccer scheduling services for youth teams in Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia. Over the years, SFL grew to accommodate over 8,700 players from more than 475 teams across 20 clubs, fostering a love for the game and community spirit.
