Our Story

Founded in 2001 by Taro Alexander, the Stuttering Association for the Young (SAY) began in New York City with a mission to support young people who stutter. Inspired by his own experiences in the performing arts, Taro created a welcoming community that has since expanded to include SAY: DC, established in 2019, to serve families in the DMV area.

SAY provides transformative programs that foster self-confidence and community support for countless children who stutter. No child is denied access to these essential services due to financial constraints.
