The Sturgis Falls Celebration originated from the 1976 Cedar Falls Bicentennial Celebration, honoring the community's rich history. Named after William Sturgis, the founder of Sturgis Falls in 1845, this annual event has been a cornerstone of local culture since 1985, when it became a nonprofit organization run by a dedicated volunteer board.
