Our Story

SMARTS, or Students Motivated by the Arts, is a vibrant community art school dedicated to providing free classes in visual arts, music, dance, theater, and creative writing for youth from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Established in 1997, SMARTS focuses on underserved populations, aiming to bridge the gap in arts education during and after school.

Impact

Engagement in the arts significantly boosts academic success; students involved in arts programs are four times more likely to achieve academic recognition and twice as likely to graduate from college. SMARTS enriches children's lives and fosters community growth by providing access to quality arts education.
